My exams are over! Finally! Here is picture of my window of revision which I will be tearing down after I get back. Packing for HK now. I’ll still be lingering around tumblr during my holiday so I won’t be completely dead.
Another present for godmother! She saw Duck Parade and asked me to paint one for her too… about 3 years ago. Finally did it now and I realise my painting skills have not improved one bit. Its understandable though because I hardly paint. Done with acrylic paint over two days.
This is a bottle for my godmother, my favourite thing about it is the colour. I was painting something else and mixed it by accident, it wasn’t even close to the colour needed but I really liked it so it was used for this bottle ._. Also, I’m thinking of producing these to sell. What do you think? :/
Went to the MCM Expo yesterday. Didn’t take any pictures while I was there, should really get a smartphone solely for the purpose of taking photos and directly uploading online. Sarah send me pictures please :D
It was boiling inside the Excel Centre and there were so many people. Had to wait in queue after we bought our tickets for the hall to empty out a bit. Walked around for a bit, posters had gotten more expensive so didn’t buy any but bought the FreshEpics’ first collaboration bookey thing and got it signed by 4 of the members. Afterwards we sat outside for a while watching cosplayers come and go. Noticed an awful lot of “Free Hugs” signs. Should wear a “Free Handshakes” sign next time I go.
The day was great despite melting in the sun.
Late post about Herman, I finally baked him on the 21st of April. There were two portions of Herman so he had to stay in the oven twice the time given. Saying this makes me feel like the witch from Hansel and Gretel. He was tasty. That is all.

Another project done and dusted! Now to focus on revision.
Project theme is “Sky High”. First started looking into flying, since… well, you can guess. When I think of flying, I think of freedom, and when I think of freedom, I think of flight, so in many ways the ‘idea’ behind this piece is freedom.
A few people were asked “What do you think of when I say ‘freedom’?” and some responses included corruption, beaches, opression, flight, travelling, America, birds etc. Someone just left their piece of paper blank and told me she thought of emptiness when I asked her that question. I’d talk more about how freedom is related to the piece, but it would probably just bore you.
I’ve spent the last two and a half weeks producing these wings. It’s made of wood, denim, wax, feathers, tissue paper, willow twigs, PVA glue, nuts/ bolts/ washers/ sleeves, part of an old ruckpack and a packed sawdust board. The tissue paper, willow twigs and PVA glue were used to create substitute feathers because I am a cheap person and I do not want to buy 500 feathers. I did manage to buy 150 though and I’ve made about 300 ‘fake’ ones.
The only thing holding the real/ ‘fake’ feathers to the denim is wax, which I wanted to use because one of my earliest inspirations was the myth of Icarus. I didn’t expect the wax to hold onto the fabric this well and I now love wax, just to let you know.
Also, if you’ve noticed that the denim on one of the wings is blue and the other is black, that is because I ran out of black denim so I settled for dark blue denim on the second wing (I’ve covered it up with tissue paper in some of the photos). And if you didn’t notice… well now you know.

OMGOMG, this is important. My cousin gave me some FRIENDSHIP CAKE MIX today, its made of rainbows, happiness and unicorns. Oh and its called Herman.
What you do is you get this mix and you “grow” it for 10 days, adding some flour, sugar and milk on the 4th and 9th day, stirring on every day inbetween. Then on the 9th day it should’ve grown to about 4 times its original size and you can SPLIT IT UP AND GIVE IT TO OTHER PEOPLE! Then you can keep one of the portions, add some other stuff that makes it into edible cake mix, bake it and EAT IT. Yes, I’ll be eating rainbows, happiness and unicorns in 10 days. You know you’re jealous.
Oh and since you’re supposed to share the cake mix on the 9th day, instead of keeping it and eating all 4 cakes yourself, does anyone want some friendship cake mix?
Some of you may already know these guys (I’m looking at you Shahnaz) but I’ve recently started listening to their entire album instead of just the released singles and… I like.
Spent 20 minutes trying to work out why my calculator was “math error”-ing before I finally realised I was trying to find the square root of -1.
Spent today wrapping presents for people, not because I needed to but because I didn’t want to do my work. Ah procrastination, what would I do without you?
